On October 1, 2017, Main Street Woodbury will be transformed into a block party designed to bring both town residents and tourists together to enjoy the beauty and vitality of a fall afternoon in Woodbury. “Meander on Main Street” will feature the latest in food-and-festival trends - food trucks!- along with area restaurants, small business and community organization activities such as information tables and crafts and small games and giveaways, live music for the whole family, locally sourced handicrafts for sale, and much more. “Meander” will be held on Main Street, which will be closed to vehicle traffic from the intersection of Rt.6 and Rt.47 to the north (at North Green) down to the intersection of Main Street and Judson Avenue and Mountain Road (at the Old Town Hall). The festival will be open from 2 – 6 p.m. to allow people plenty of time to visit with neighbors, learn about local businesses, win a prize at a community booth, dance along with friends to a live band and sample the wares of more than 15 food trucks and local restaurant vendors.
The fall festival is the work of WOW (What’s On in Woodbury) and many WOW volunteers. WOW is a group comprised of personnel of the Woodbury Library, Woodbury Parks and Recreation, and Woodbury Senior Community Center, whose mission is to provide community wide programming to encourage a sense of community pride and civic investment among town residents. This festival is endorsed by the Woodbury Business and Economic Development Committee for the creative way Woodbury businesses and organizations will be featured, with those along the party route open for business and others welcome to join the party with a business and information station at the festival.
